How do you play Racing Imposter?
Everyone gets the same racing driver on their own phone except one of you, the imposter, who only sees the word "Driver", which tells them nothing, and the flag.
- Send the link. One of you starts a game and shares the link or the 4-letter code. You need 3 to 8 players — free for up to 4.
- Everyone gets the same racing driver — except the imposter, who has to bluff from the position and the flag.
- Say one word each about the player. Out loud in the same room, or typed if you play online.
- Vote out the bluffer. Caught imposters get one last chance: guess the player and steal a point.
An imposter who escapes scores 2 points; when the imposter is caught, everyone who voted right scores 1. Five rounds, a new player every round, about 5–10 minutes.
Can you play Racing Imposter online?
Yes — play in the same room or miles apart, each on your own phone, and the host picks which before the game starts.
| Together (same room) | Apart (online) | |
|---|---|---|
| Your word | Said out loud, in turn | Typed in the game |
| The vote | The host starts it when everyone has spoken | Everyone sees the clues together, then votes |
| Works best | On the sofa, at practice, at a party | Over a video call or straight from the group chat |
What else can you play in the same room?
Keep the same group and switch game: every sport also has a live auction, Guess the player and Pick your favorite.
- Guess the Driver. Clues drop one at a time, and the first to name the driver scores. Guess the Driver
- A live racing auction. Everyone gets 100M and bids for the same drivers — the fastest team wins the race. Racing driver auction
- Another sport. The same game with footballers, basketball players or hockey players.
- Ideas for tonight. Six games for your group chat, with and without us. Football games to play with friends
Then put a price on them: the racing auction
Same group, same racing drivers, more at stake. Racing driver auction
- Create a game and send the link. Send the link before lights out on race weekend. Everyone joins on their own phone, no account needed.
- Bid on one racing driver at a time. Champions from 1952 come up side by side with today's grid. There is only one position, so every lot is a straight fight over pace.
- Choose which three of your drivers race. Each manager runs three cars. Finishing positions score 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8 and down, and the team with the most points wins. The final is one race between the top two teams' six cars, starting from a mixed grid.
More racing games for the same group
- The live auction. Everyone gets 100M and bids for the same racing drivers. Build the stronger race team and win.
- Guess the player. Six clues about a mystery racing driver, one at a time. Name them first — a wrong guess hands everyone else the point.
- This or That. Two racing drivers, same era. One of you picks in secret, the rest guess which.
Why racing fans keep playing Imposter
- A racing tip. The imposter only gets the flag, so pick a word that fits a whole country's racing history. "Rain", "fast" and "champion" are safe.
- Bluffing is the skill. The imposter has to sound like a racing driver expert with nothing but a position and a flag.
- Built for the same room. Say your word out loud on the sofa, or type it when you play apart.
- 3 to 8 players. Free for up to 4, Host Pass for bigger groups.
- One last chance. A caught imposter can still steal a point by naming the player.
- No ads. Ever. Just the word, the vote and the accusations.
