How do you play Hockey This or That?
One of you secretly picks one of two hockey players, and everyone else scores a point by guessing which one.
- Send the link. One of you starts a game and shares the link or the 4-letter code. You need at least two players, and it is free for up to 4.
- Two hockey players appear. Always the same position and the same era, and about the same level, so the choice is hard.
- One of you picks in secret. The picker has 12 seconds to choose a favourite. Nobody else can see it.
- Everyone else guesses. You get 12 seconds too. Every right guess scores a point, and then the next player becomes the picker.
A game is 6 to 12 rounds, depending on how many you are, so everyone picks at least once. The player with the most points knows the group best.
Hockey This or That or Would You Rather?
Both ask you to choose between two. The difference is the twist: here you do not just say your answer, you score by reading your friends.

Can you play it online with friends?

- Create a game and send the link. Send the link during the first intermission. Everyone joins on their own phone, on the couch or from the stands.
- Bid on one hockey player at a time. Goaltenders, defencemen, centres and wingers hit the block one at a time, from the 1945 era to this season. Miss out on the good goaltenders and you will feel it.
- Put your six on the ice. Three periods, played out goal by goal. Tied after 60 minutes? A shootout decides it, and the stronger six wins.

Hockey This or That rules in one minute
- Players: 2 to 8, free for up to 4.
- Each round: the picker gets 12 seconds to choose, then everyone else gets 12 seconds to guess.
- Points: 1 for every right guess. The picker changes every round.
- Length: 6 to 12 rounds, so everyone picks at least once.
- The pairs: drawn from the same position: 22 goaltenders, 40 defencemans, 40 centres, 31 left wings and 33 right wings.
