The bidding game: "I can name 5." "Name them!"
Pick a category, bid how many players you can name, and the highest bidder has to prove it on their phone. The game checks every name. Free for up to 4.
How the bidding game works
- A category comes up. For example footballers from Brazil. The screen shows how many of them are in the game.
- Bid how many you can name. One player opens at 2. Tap a higher number, or tap "Name them!". Every bid restarts the clock.
- Prove it. The highest bidder types the names on their phone, and the game checks each one. Three wrong names and you are out.
- Score your bid. Name them all in time and you score your bid. Fall short and everyone else scores half of it.

Questions
How do you play the bidding game?
A category comes up, like footballers from Brazil. One player opens at 2, and everyone else can bid higher ("I can name 5") or say "Name them!". When the bidding stops, the highest bidder has to name that many, and everyone else gets points if they fall short.
What are good bidding game categories?
Categories where everyone knows a few names and nobody knows all of them: players from one country, one position, or the legends of a country. Deadline Day picks them for you from its player database and shows how many are in the game.
Is this the bidding game from TikTok?
It is the same idea: bid how many you can name, then prove it. Here everyone plays on their own phone, the clock runs for you, and the game checks every name, so nobody can argue about the answers.
How does the game check the names?
The highest bidder types each name, picks it from the suggestions, and the game checks it against the category. Three wrong names and you are out.
Which sports can we play?
Football, cricket, basketball, rugby, ice hockey, handball and esports. Racing and darts have too few players per category, so they have Quiz Battle and Guess the player instead.
Is it free?
Yes. Up to 4 friends play for free, with no sign-up and no ads. A one-time Host Pass (€4.99) opens a room to 20. You can also play alone against computer players.
