The music party game you play on your phones
Bid on the biggest hits from the 80s to today, hear each song on the TV, and the most real views wins. Free for up to 4, no cards, no Spotify.
How the music party game works
- Send one link to your group chat. Everyone joins on their own phone, with no app and no sign-up. On the same sofa? Open deadlineday.app/tv on the TV, and everyone scans the code.
- Everyone gets 100M of play money. The songs come up one at a time, and you bid live on your phone.
- Hear each song while you bid. Turn on "With songs", and the TV (or the host's phone) plays the official music video from YouTube.
- The real views decide. The view counts are revealed from the smallest up, and the most views in total wins.
A music game without cards or Spotify
- Nothing to buy or set up. Card music games need a box of cards and a Spotify account. Here every song is already in the game, and it is free for up to 4.
- Pick your decade. The host picks the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s or 2020s in the lobby, or mixes them all. Grown up with the 90s? Play the 90s.
- The real views decide. Every song brings its real number of views on YouTube, and the biggest total wins the night.
Which songs are in it?
346 of the most-watched official music videos from the 80s to today, all from the artists' own channels: mostly in English, plus the biggest Latin hits.
What does it cost?
- Up to 4 friends
- Every song in the game
- No sign-up, no download, no ads
- Up to 8 friends
- Every game you host on that device
- No subscription — your friends never pay
Questions
Is it like Hitster?
Both are music party games, but they work differently. Hitster is a card game where you place songs on a timeline, and it needs the cards and a Spotify account. Deadline Day is a free online auction: every song is already in the game, and the most real views wins. We are not affiliated with Hitster or Jumbo.
Do we need Spotify or cards?
No. The songs play from the official music videos on YouTube, on the TV or on the host's phone. Nobody signs in to anything, and you can also play without the songs.
Can we pick a decade?
Yes. The host picks the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s or 2020s in the lobby, or plays all decades mixed.
Where do the view counts come from?
From YouTube itself. We fetch the real view counts every month, and the results screen shows the date they were fetched.
Is this made by YouTube?
No. Deadline Day is an independent party game made by AddonNordic ApS in Denmark. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by YouTube, Google or any artist or record label.
Is there real money involved?
No. Everyone bids with 100M of play money, and nothing can be won or lost.
