Draft your six against your friends

How the ice hockey auction works

1. 📲Create a game and send the link. Send the link during the first intermission. Everyone joins on their own phone, on the couch or from the stands.
2. 🔨Bid on one hockey player at a time. Goaltenders, defencemen, centres and wingers hit the block one at a time, from the 1945 era to this season. Miss out on the good goaltenders and you will feel it.
3. 🏟️Put your six on the ice. Three periods, played out goal by goal. Tied after 60 minutes? A shootout decides it, and the stronger six wins.

Plus three more ice hockey games

• 🕵️Guess the player. Six clues about a mystery hockey player, one at a time. Name them first — a wrong guess hands everyone else the point.
• ❤️This or That. Two hockey players, same position, same era. One of you picks in secret, the rest guess which.
• 🎭Imposter. Everyone gets the same hockey player except one bluffer. One word each, then vote.

Why hockey fans keep playing the auction

• ⚡Real bidding wars. The goaltender is the one position nobody can cover for, so the price of the second-best one tells you how the night will go.
• 🏆166 hockey players to fight over. 22 goaltenders, 40 defencemans, 40 centres, 31 left wings and 33 right wings. Drawn at random, so no two auctions are the same.
• 📣Every manager gets a verdict. Paid 40M for a reserve? The whole group will know.
• 📺Put it on the big screen. Open deadlineday.app/tv and the auction, every six and the result play out on the TV while you bid on your phones.
• 🤖Only two of you? Add computer managers, each with their own bidding style.
• 🚫No ads. Ever. Nothing gets between you and the hammer.

What does the ice hockey auction cost?

The ice hockey auction rules in one minute

• Budget: every manager starts with 100M of play money. You always keep enough to fill the rest of your squad, so you can never go broke.
• Squad: 10 players: six on the ice including a goaltender, and four on the bench.
• Bidding: the clock starts at 10 seconds and every bid restarts it. Tap Pass when you are out, and when everyone has passed the hammer falls straight away.
• Hidden ratings: you never see a hockey player's rating during the auction. You bid on what you know.
• The last manager standing: when everyone else has a full squad, the last manager gets random hockey players to fill theirs. Bid while you can.
• Lineup: Put your six on the ice: Classic line, Two centres or Power play 1-4. A skater can never play goal. A defenceman up front costs rating; a centre on the wing costs a little.
• The result: a season and a final. Still level after three periods? A shootout, won by the stronger six.
