How the American football auction works

1. 📲Create a game and send the link. Put the link in the group chat before kickoff. Everyone joins on their own phone, on the couch or at the watch party.
2. 🔨Bid on one football player at a time. Quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, linemen, linebackers, defensive backs and kickers go under the hammer one by one, legends from 1942 next to today's stars. Two of you chasing the same quarterback is where the budget goes.
3. 🏟️Set your starting 12. The game is four quarters: touchdowns, extra points, field goals and the odd safety. Tied after four? It goes to overtime, and the stronger team usually wins.

What does the American football auction cost?

The American football auction rules in one minute

• Budget: every manager starts with 100M of play money. You always keep enough to fill the rest of your squad, so you can never go broke.
• Squad: 15 players: 12 starters on offense, defense and special teams, plus three on the bench. Want it quicker? Quick draft is a five-player flag football team.
• Bidding: the clock starts at 10 seconds and every bid restarts it. Tap Pass when you are out, and when everyone has passed the hammer falls straight away.
• Hidden ratings: you never see a football player's rating during the auction. You bid on what you know.
• The last manager standing: when everyone else has a full squad, the last manager gets random football players to fill theirs. Bid while you can.
• Lineup: Set your starting 12. An offensive player on defense costs a lot, quarterbacks and kickers are specialists, and neighbors like wide receiver and tight end cost almost nothing.
• The result: a season of games and a final between the top two. A tie goes to overtime, and the stronger team wins most games.
