Outbid your friends. Build the best lineup. Best team wins.

How the football auction works

1. 📲Create a game and send the link. Send the link to the five-a-side group, the fantasy league chat or the pub table. Everyone joins on their own phone with the link or a 4-letter code.
2. 🔨Bid on one footballer at a time. Goalkeepers, centre-backs, playmakers and strikers come up one at a time, today's stars mixed with legends in their best season. Bid in steps of 0.5M; every bid puts the clock back to 10 seconds.
3. 🏟️Pick a shape when the hammer has fallen for the last time. The match is played out live, chance by chance, and the stronger XI wins. With three or more managers you play a full season, home and away, and the top two meet in a final.

Plus three more football games

• 🕵️Guess the player. Six clues about a mystery footballer, one at a time. Name them first — a wrong guess hands everyone else the point.
• ❤️This or That. Two footballers, same position, same era. One of you picks in secret, the rest guess which.
• 🎭Imposter. Everyone gets the same footballer except one bluffer. One word each, then vote.

Why football fans keep playing the auction

• ⚡Real bidding wars. Football is the deepest pool in the game, so the late lots are where leagues are won: everyone has spent big on forwards, and the full-backs go cheap.
• 🏆327 footballers to fight over. 19 goalkeepers, 42 centre-backs, 31 right-backs, 32 left-backs, 23 attacking mids, 25 defensive mids, 34 central mids, 15 left mids, 15 right mids, 32 strikers, 30 right wingers and 29 left wingers. Drawn at random, so no two auctions are the same.
• 📣Every manager gets a verdict. Paid 40M for a reserve? The whole group will know.
• 📺Put it on the big screen. Open deadlineday.app/tv and the auction, every XI and the result play out on the TV while you bid on your phones.
• 🤖Only two of you? Add computer managers, each with their own bidding style.
• 🚫No ads. Ever. Nothing gets between you and the hammer.
• 🏆Seven sports, plus songs and videos. Football, basketball, handball, ice hockey, racing, esports and cricket — or bid on the biggest hits from the 80s to today, movie trailers, the greatest metal albums, Christmas songs, songs from the Eurovision finals and YouTube's most-watched videos and funniest shorts.

What does the football auction cost?

The football auction rules in one minute

• Budget: every manager starts with 100M of play money. You always keep enough to fill the rest of your squad, so you can never go broke.
• Squad: 16 players: 11 starters and 5 substitutes, with at least one goalkeeper. Want it quicker? Quick draft is five-a-side, starters only.
• Bidding: the clock starts at 10 seconds and every bid restarts it. Tap Pass when you are out, and when everyone has passed the hammer falls straight away.
• Hidden ratings: you never see a footballer's rating during the auction. You bid on what you know.
• The last manager standing: when everyone else has a full squad, the last manager gets random footballers to fill theirs. Bid while you can.
• Lineup: Pick a shape when the hammer has fallen for the last time: 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-1-2-1-2, 3-5-2, 3-4-3 or 5-3-2. A centre-back at striker or a winger in goal costs rating, so a cheap goalkeeper late on can be worth more than another forward.
• The result: one match with two managers; with more, a full home-and-away season where the top two meet in a final. Ratings stay hidden until the final whistle.
